Orientation cheat sheet

  • North (most regions): low, even light — ideal for ZZ, Snake Plant, Aglaonema.
  • East: gentle morning sun — great for Pothos, Philodendron, Spider Plant.
  • West: harsher afternoon sun — diffuse with sheers or step plants back.
  • South: brightest — set back from glass for bright-indirect.

Placement rules

Start 1–2 m from the window for bright-indirect lovers; move closer/farther by 0.5 m based on leaf feedback (leggy = more light; scorch = less).
