Fungal spot tells

  • Round or blotchy tan/brown lesions with darker margins.
  • Dry/papery centers; lesions expand and coalesce.

Bacterial spot tells

  • Water-soaked or translucent lesions that may ooze.
  • Edges look greasy; spread accelerates in warm, wet conditions.

Next steps

For fungal: prune, improve airflow, and consider mild fungicides. For bacterial: aggressive sanitation, reduce splashing, and isolate; treatments are mostly cultural.
