- Overwatered: leaves yellow then collapse soft; edema blisters; petioles limp.
- Underwatered: leaves curl inward, edges crisp; plant feels light; some species pucker (e.g., Snake Plant).
Species examples
Peace Lily droops for both issues — check soil: wet + soft = overwatering; dry + firm = underwatering. Ficus elastica yellows and drops if roots stay wet; ZZ Plant wrinkles and shrivels when too dry.

Weigh your pot when fully watered vs ready-to-water. The difference becomes your reliable refill cue.
