Fibrous roots
Found in succulents like Aloe vera and Crassula ovata, these roots spread wide and shallow to quickly absorb moisture after rain or watering.
Tuberous roots
Adenium obesum (Desert Rose) and caudiciform succulents develop swollen, water-storing roots or bases. These thickened roots can appear above soil as decorative “caudex.”
Aerial roots
Trailing species such as Senecio rowleyanus or Rhipsalis baccifera grow aerial roots along stems to absorb humidity or stabilize hanging growth.
