Crassula ovata: thicker, opposite leaves; gray-brown, brittle stems. Portulacaria afra: smaller round leaves; flexible reddish stems; finer, faster branching.

Care hints

Both like bright light and drying between waterings; Portulacaria tolerates pruning into bonsai shapes especially well.
