Why strategy changes in low light
Reduced photosynthesis means slower water use. The same schedule that works in bright rooms can cause chronic overwatering in dim spaces.
Mix guidelines
- Aroids/vines: peat or coco base + perlite + bark (fast-draining, airy).
- ZZ/Snake: add more mineral fraction (pumice/grit) to dry faster.
- Ferns: retain more moisture but keep structure airy.
Watering rhythm
Check moisture at depth; water thoroughly, then wait. In winter, intervals stretch further. Always empty saucers.
