Too little light

Leads to pale, floppy leaves that slowly yellow and fall off. Common in Monstera deliciosa or Ficus elastica kept far from windows.

Too much light

Results in scorched or bleached leaves, especially when magnified through glass. Peace lilies and Calathea are sensitive to direct sun.

Solutions

  • Move the plant near bright, indirect light (east or north window).
  • Rotate it weekly for even growth.
  • Use sheer curtains to filter harsh sun.
